Lauren Coudrain, CEO of The Coudrain Group, has created and maintained Facebook pages and groups, blogs, websites, Twitter feeds, and LinkedIn groups for numerous organizations. She also provides one-on-one social media coaching for small business owners and nonprofit directors. Lauren has conducted seminars and workshops for nonprofits and businesses through various organizations and enjoys sharing information about ways social media can be used to benefit individuals and businesses.

The purpose of the “Social Media for Personal Use” session is to educate individuals in the community about the various uses of personal social media. Attendees will learn how to use social media to connect with friends, family, and others, using several social networks and platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Blogs. Ms. Coudrain will also discuss online privacy and security settings.

Those who are using e-mail, will learn much from this class. Those who do not know how to use a computer keyboard, mouse, or use e-mail, will not benefit from the class. Instead, they may go to http://www.lajacc.org/ or call 888-487-2700 to register for a “Computer Foundations” class or an “Introducing Windows” class.

The purpose of the “Social Media for Business Use” session, is to educate the business community to connect with customers, clients, and/or donors through social media. In order to benefit from the session, participants should have experience setting up a personal Facebook page. Participants will learn how to conduct social advertising and fundraising options using social networks and platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Blogs.

The purpose of the “Make Your Own YouTube Video” session is to educate individuals in the community on how to easily record, edit, and upload YouTube videos. Participants will learn how to easily turn photos and low-quality videos into a short (2-3 minute) edited movie with music and text using free and low-cost tools.  Ms. Coudrain will also demonstrate how to upload the finished product to YouTube.

The events are free and open to the public, and registration is recommended. Seating space is limited to adults.   Please stop by the Covington Branch, 310 West 21st Avenue or call 985-893-6280 to register.
